Collegiate Ubiquity's

Know what the words mean??? A reflection upon collegiate experiences and everything that comes with them. Having attended three very different institutions of higher learning over a period of six years, I have learned many things. The goal of this blog is to share such learning experiences and observations with you, in order to help you understand your upcoming collegiate experience better, or possibly reflect upon your experiences in the past.

My name is Steve Mallory, and I work for the PR firm representing Half.com. Since your site is all about the college experience – which for me included abject poverty — I thought I’d point out a new sweepstakes that Half.com is running through the end of September where college students can win $15,000 just for downloading a widget to their Facebook page.

Everything is on http://www.overstudying.com. They have some animated videos there about the “Perils of Over-Studying” that are fun and they’re also giving away fifty $100 gift certificates to Half.com – you just have to register to be eligible.

If you don’t want to share the info that’s cool, but I would love your feedback on the site — good, bad, or otherwise. You can be honest, I can take it.

If you have any questions about this campaign or about http://www.overstudying.com, feel free to e-mail me directly.

    Fellow Blogger,
It is customary knowledge at this point that when soliciting the aid of strangers, one has only a few seconds to capture their interest. Quite frankly, I’m not quite that good. So, by illuminating that deficiency early on, I hope I can defeat it. I hope you can hear me out for a few seconds more than those few seconds.

The thirty-second version of my life:
I grew up in poverty on the outskirts of Detroit. Fortunately, that poverty did not deter my intellectual growth. The bad news though is that I didn’t learn how I should use it until rather late in my college education. Better late for the party than out of the game completely. Then both my parents passed away within the same year. More determined than ever to overcome all the impediments, I started blogging about my fight to a return to Academia. My goal: to get a PhD and teach in a university setting.

    So what’s my next step?
I’m looking for non-monetary sponsors in the blogging community. I’d like to invite you to learn more about me and if you feel that my pursuits are worthy, I would like for you to help me tell my story; help do what bloggers do best. For instance, I’ve made a badge you can place on your blog to show your support.

In return, I’d like to offer something back. I’d like to place a permanent link to your site to express my gratitude. I would also like to thank you by periodically blogging about you and your site.
